and the photos continue!

As you can see, I have been talking about photography a lot, just did senior pictures and since then, I have been trying to build up my smiling faces to help me create my portfolio. I have been trying to schedule photo shoots for the rest of October and November and with that, I even have things to do in the winter and spring...and summer! I am so excited and really really really can't wait!

Last week I took pictures of our Cousin and Family. Jenna (PJ's cousin), her boyfriend Dan, and their adorable 3 year old daughter, Daylen had their photos taken at the comfort of their own home. The house is adorable (photo above)  and I was happy to have the chance to capture some natural moments.

How adorable is Daylen?!?

1st official photo shoot

So, I said in my last post that I have been thinking about taking on photography professionally. Well, with that, I decided that I should probably start with creating/building a portfolio. I have always LOVED photography. I have over 3,000 pictures posted on my Facebook and well, my photo storage on my computer is extremely large that we are going to be getting an external hard drive soon.

I think one reason I have not yet started a business is because well 1.) I always doubt myself, which I need to stop doing. 2.) a photography hobby can be rather expensive, just like my other hobby of dancing. So, the dream of fulfilling something with photography and dance was cut short until recently when thinking about a photographers dream, again..and this time- I plan to go for it!
I have a photographer in my family, My cousin, Jordan. Many  of you I am sure know him- I refer a lot of people to him. He is the owner of Jordan Brian Photography. He is absolutely AMAZING. He is probably the 3rd reason why i have not started anything on my own because he is just that good.I guess he intimidates me....? It would be pretty cool to keep photography in the family, Jordan lives in NJ and I live in MA and maybe just maybe...he would help me :-) ( I didn't ask) .Jordan does it all but his main focus is weddings. I would like to lean more toward children, babies, families, maternity, engagements, ect. I would totally do weddings, but that would not be my major focus when my business is securely up and running.

Here is my first photo shoot- Senior Portraits Lydia:

I made this banner that reads "Class of 3013". Purple and White are the colors of Bourne High School.

One of Lydia's hobbies is also photography- we have that in common! :-)

Vintage Bazar!

A friend of mine at work, Maria went to NH for Labor Day weekend ( like me!) While she was there she had gotten a flyer about the Vintage Bazar happening about an hour from where we live in MA. We looked it up and decided, we needed to go! It happened in the Middle of September. At this time I started thinking about possibly getting involved in professional photography. I LOVE photography and I love smiling faces- so it suites me I guess :-) While getting ready to go to this event (like 2 weeks before it happened cause we were excited about it) I decided that I was going to be looking for "props" if I plan to take photography seriously! I had a list of items I was hoping to find. Not only did I find what I was looking for, I found AMAZING things that I want to make and just admire!
1st on my list was a baby scale- I wanted one of those because I think having a new born baby all swaddled up would be absolutely adorable!! I needed to find this! Well, if you are wondering if I found it, I DID!!! Check this baby (scale) out!

I got this awesome Vintage Baby Scale with the Original Tags still on it- for $25.00!!! I was so happy and Maria was too I am sure because I would have been bummed if we didn't find it.

Another awesome prob I found was a Red Vintage Wheel Barrow. I picture putting a new born in this too- its so cute! I got this vintage prob for $30!

I wanted to get so much more! There was so much stuff to look at. They will be having it again in May- I can't wait to go back. The list of props i'd eventually like to get keeps growing and this place had it all!!!!

I hope this photography business kicks off and is extremely successful! Wish me luck!!!

It's been awhile!!

I always tell myself that I am going to blog weekly to fill in family and friends what has been going on in Boston as I don't talk to them nearly as much as I should and they live a good several hours away. Well, me telling myself that doesn't necessary mean that I am going to listen and follow through, something I definitely need to work on. Maybe that will be my New Years Resolution for 2013.  Anyway, the past several months have flown by and I can't believe that the year is almost over. Seriously, I just mentioned 2013....

PJ and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary on September 4th! We went to New Hampshire this year for a short weekend get away. We celebrated our amazing 2 years married with our best friends who got engaged this summer! It was a weekend of celebrating and relaxing and..... hiking! We enjoy hiking however, we dont get to do that very often as our weeks and weekends are always jam packed with a variety of different things! Here are a few pictures of our adventure- and out newly engaged friends (Who set the date btw...August 23, 2013 in Mexico!)

You think sitting all day in the sun by the ocean, breathing in the ocean air, listening to the sounds of the waves crashing on the beach is relaxing......well, you are right...it is, but hiking all day and being in the middle of nature, breathing in the fresh air surrounded by trees and seeing amazing views of mountains is just as relaxing as the beach is. We took naps throughout the weekend- much needed naps. :-)

I saw something on pinterest that I thought was adorable. Each anniversary we will take a picture of ourselves holding a photo from the anniversary before. This is our 2 year anniversary "official photo":

This one because I love the chalkboard I made! it's not yellow...it's white although in this it looks yellow- thanks horrible lighting!
